Rankki SEO Inspector ("Rankki", "we", "us") is a browser extension that analyses the on-page SEO of websites you visit. It is developed and published by an independent developer.

2. Data we collect

We collect no personal data.

Rankki does not collect, transmit, or share any information about you or the websites you visit. All SEO analysis is performed locally within your browser using the Chrome extensions API. No data ever leaves your device to our servers — because we have no servers receiving it.

3. How the extension works

When you activate Rankki on a page, the extension reads the HTML of the currently active tab using the scripting and activeTab Chrome permissions. This analysis happens entirely within your browser. The results are displayed in the extension popup and are never sent anywhere.

4. Permissions we request and why

• activeTab — to read the HTML of the page you're currently viewing, only when you click the extension icon.
• scripting — to run the SEO analysis script on the active tab.
• storage — to save your Pro licence key and user preferences (Simple/Expert mode) locally on your device only.
• sidePanel — to display the extension in Chrome's side panel if you choose to use it.

None of these permissions are used to collect, transmit, or share any data.

5. Local storage

If you purchase Rankki Pro, your licence key is stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data lives only on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

6. Third-party services

When you purchase a Pro licence, payment is processed by Gumroad (gumroad.com). Rankki itself does not handle or store any payment information. Please refer to Gumroad's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your purchase data.

Licence key verification is performed by a request to the Gumroad API. This request contains only your licence key — no personal information, no browsing data, and no information about which websites you have analysed.

7. Cookies and tracking

Rankki does not use cookies. Rankki does not use any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking software. We have no way of knowing how many people use the extension, which pages they analyse, or anything else about usage behaviour.

8. Children's privacy

Rankki is a professional SEO tool intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way — for example, if a future version of Rankki introduces optional analytics — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We will not introduce any data collection without clearly notifying users first.
